Contrary to rumors on Wikipedia and elsewhere, Wappoo Hall Plantation was never owned by the Lucas family. Eliza Lucas planted indigo across Wappoo Creek on what is now known as West Ashley. Her plantation was called Wappoo, not Wappoo Hall.
